Introductions are in order all around I guess. Im just a normal guy, I guess. I work from home, drool over cool things and have nothing better to do than to write about it and maybe, JUUUUUUST maybe, someone will think its as cool as I do.
I’m going to start today off with the thing that inspired me to be here today telling you all how cool all this other stuff is, my iMac. From the day I first touched a computer (in the 2nd grade) I have been a PC guy. Every computer that I had ever owned beforehand was a PC. I built PC’s, worked on PC’s and scoffed at Macs. Then I happened to meet a new friend that had one. It was a 25” iMac. One evening I started playing around on it and I loved the way it was designed, I loved the way it performed, hell, it even ran Windows!
I started plotting. I had just talked my wife out of buying a MacBook about 3 months earlier; how was I going to talk her into this? Easy solution, but slow implementation. For about 2 weeks prior to purchase I started complaining, at every opportunity, how my PC was messing up or how it was broken. Then I mentioned it to her and voila, she relented. We went to the store and I ended up purchasing a 25” Imac with a mid-grade processor, 500G hard drive and 4G of Ram. I also purchased Parallels for Mac to move my old Windows hard drive over to the mac.
In about 45 minutes of opening the box I was up, configured and running windows. I love this machine, I love this OS and this is the gadget that really launched my love affair with other gadgets. Right now it is my main computer that I use for work. My setup includes the 25” iMac, a 26” secondary monitor, Apple extended keyboard and an Apple Magic mouse. (write-ups on all of this forthcoming)
Ill leave you with this, a picture of my current set-up. Until the next time I get around to writing…
